How To Use Spermidine 3HCL Powder?

Spermidine 3HCL is a white crystalline powder, odorless, easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and acetone, and is also a polyamine compound, widely distributed in organisms. It is biosynthesized from putrescine and adenosylmethionine. It can inhibit neuronal synthases, bind and precipitate DNA; it can also be used to purify DNA-binding proteins and stimulate T4 polynucleotide kinase activity.

Spermidine 3HCL

It is the hydrochloride form of spermidine, which is often reacted with alkali to release the triamine structure when used. It is mainly used as an organic synthesis intermediate and a donor in supramolecular chemistry. It is an important alkaloid with certain physiological activity and pharmacological effects, and is widely used in medicine, food, cosmetics and agriculture. This blog will discuss the functions, preparation, uses and application directions of spermidine hydrochloride powder.

Main uses of spermidine hydrochloride

  • Stimulate T4 polynucleotide kinase activity.
  • Inhibit neuronal NO synthase (nNOS).
  • Binding and precipitating DNA, also used to purify DNA binding proteins.
  • Used as an organic synthesis intermediate and a donor in supramolecular chemistry.
  • A scientific research reagent, widely used in molecular biology, pharmacology and other scientific research.
  • Spermidine can also coordinate with metal ions, such as silver ions and platinum ions.
  • In organic synthesis transformations, spermidine hydrochloride is often reacted with alkali to release the spermidine structure, and spermidine can react with acyl chloride to form three amide bonds.

What are the functions?

Antioxidant: It has strong antioxidant activity, can react with free radicals, and reduce the oxidative damage of free radicals to cells.

Energy metabolism regulation: It regulates the energy metabolism of organisms and can promote the absorption and utilization of glucose after food intake.

Promote growth and development: It can promote the secretion of growth hormone in the human body and help enhance the development of various tissues and organs in the body.

Immunomodulation: By regulating the production of white blood cells and promoting the removal of reactive oxygen, it enhances the body's resistance to viruses and diseases.

Delaying aging: It can promote autophagy, a cleaning process inside cells, which helps to remove damaged organelles and proteins, thereby delaying aging.

Glial cell regulation: It can participate in the functional connection between the cell signal transduction system and nerve cells, and plays an important regulatory role in the development of neurons, synaptic transmission and combating neuropathy.

Cardiovascular protection: It can reduce lipid accumulation in atherosclerotic plaques, reduce cardiac hypertrophy, and improve diastolic function, thereby protecting the heart.

Preparation process of spermidine hydrochloride

Method 1: Synthesis of spermidine hydrochloride by reaction of spermidine and hydrochloric acid

Step 1: Dissolve spermidine in water and adjust the pH value to 8.0-9.0.

Step 2: Add hydrochloric acid solution dropwise to spermidine solution while stirring continuously.

Step 3: Continue stirring the reaction mixture until the pH value drops to about 4.0.

Step 4: Filter the reaction mixture to obtain a solid product of spermidine hydrochloride.

Reaction mechanism: When spermidine reacts with hydrochloric acid, the two amino groups in spermidine react with the hydrogen ions in hydrochloric acid to generate spermidine hydrochloride.

Method 2: Synthesis of spermidine hydrochloride by reaction of spermidine methyl ester and hydrochloric acid

Step 1: Dissolve spermidine methyl ester in water.

Step 2: Add hydrochloric acid solution dropwise to spermidine methyl ester solution while stirring continuously.

Step 3: Continue stirring the reaction mixture until the pH value drops to about 4.0.

Step 4: Filter the reaction mixture to obtain a solid product of spermidine hydrochloride.

Reaction mechanism: When spermidine methyl ester reacts with hydrochloric acid, the methoxy group in spermidine methyl ester is replaced by the hydrogen ion in hydrochloric acid to generate spermidine hydrochloride.

Application fields

Medicine

Since spermidine trihydrochloride has strong biological activity and pharmacological effects, it has broad application prospects in the medical field. It can be used as a drug raw material or excipient, for example, it can be used to thicken and stabilize the production process of drugs such as antibiotics.

Food

This substance can be used as a food additive to improve the taste and quality of food; it can also inhibit the growth of microorganisms and extend the shelf life of food.

Cosmetics

It is used as a moisturizer and antioxidant to maintain skin moisture and reduce free radical damage. In addition, it can also be used in sunscreens to reduce ultraviolet damage to the skin.
