Product Introduction
What is pyrethrin liquid?
Pyrethrin liquid is a yellow oily liquid, which is insoluble in water and soluble in a variety of organic solvents. It is relatively stable to light, heat and acidic substances, easily decomposed in alkali, and can burn in open flames. It has extremely low toxicity to humans and animals and is a basically non-toxic and residue-free natural pesticide. It is a new type of pyrethroid insecticide. It mainly acts as a contact insecticide, and also has stomach poison and repellent effects. Compared with other pyrethroid pesticides, it has low insecticidal activity, high dosage per unit area, and extremely low toxicity, making it the most suitable for controlling sanitary pests.
It exists in the leaves, stems, and especially flowers of pyrethrum (a plant of the Asteraceae family), and has a strong toxic effect on insects. The flowers of pyrethrum are collected and dried, and mixed with sawdust, spices, etc. to make fumigants. After being ignited, they can be emitted with smoke. Once flying mosquitoes come into contact with it, they will be poisoned. This fumigant is an excellent natural "mosquito coil".
It is a broad-spectrum insecticide that can control a variety of pests. Its insecticidal toxicity is 10 to 100 times higher than that of the older generation of insecticides such as organochlorine, organophosphorus, and carbamates. Pyrethroids have a strong contact effect on insects, and some varieties have both stomach poison or fumigation effects, but none of them have systemic effects. Its mechanism of action is to disrupt the normal physiology of insect nerves, causing them to die from excitement, spasm to paralysis. Pyrethroids are safe for humans and animals due to their small dosage and low concentration, and they cause little pollution to the environment.
Properties:
1. Stability: Relatively stable at room temperature, but easily decomposed under high temperature, sunlight and ultraviolet rays. Therefore, it is necessary to avoid exposure to high temperature and sunlight during storage and use.
2. Solubility: It is a fat-soluble compound that is soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, ether and ketone. It has low solubility in water, but can form a suspension.
3. Photosensitivity: It is sensitive to light, especially ultraviolet rays. Long-term ultraviolet radiation will cause its decomposition and failure, so it is necessary to avoid exposure to strong light during storage and use.
4. Thermal stability: It will also decompose at high temperatures, so it is necessary to avoid exposure to high temperature environments.
5. Toxicity: It is relatively safe for humans and animals, but it may irritate the skin and eyes at high concentrations. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to protective measures during use to avoid direct contact.
Pyrethrin is a natural organic compound with excellent insecticidal effect. It is widely used in agriculture, household hygiene and public health. Its chemical properties are stable, but it is sensitive to light and heat.
Its poisoning mechanism mainly involves its effect on the insect nervous system:
1. Neurotoxic effect: It exerts insecticidal effect by acting on the nervous system of insects. It mainly affects the electrical signal transmission of insect nerve cells. It can interfere with the sodium ion channels of insect nerve cells, causing increased excitability of nerve cells, leading to abnormal electrical signal transmission and nerve conduction blockage. This will cause functional disorders of the insect nervous system, and eventually lead to paralysis and death.
2. Selectivity of neurotoxic effect: It has a relatively high selectivity for the insect nervous system and has less effect on the nervous system of mammals and humans. This is because there are some structural and functional differences between the nerve cells of insects and mammals, resulting in a more obvious effect on the insect nervous system and a smaller effect on the nervous system of mammals.
3. Metabolism and detoxification: A part of it will undergo metabolism in the insect body to produce some metabolites. These metabolites may have a stronger toxic effect on the insect nervous system. However, some insects may also reduce toxicity through some detoxification mechanisms. These detoxification mechanisms may include the activation of metabolic enzymes and the ability to eliminate pyrethrins.
4. Potential hazards: Although the impact on humans and mammals is relatively small, it may still cause certain discomfort symptoms such as eye and skin irritation, respiratory discomfort, etc. at high concentrations and long-term contact. Therefore, when using it, it is still necessary to follow the correct usage method and safe operating procedures to avoid excessive contact.
Pyrethrins exert their insecticidal effects by interfering with the electrical signal transmission of insect nerve cells. Its effect on the insect nervous system is relatively selective, and it has less effect on the nervous system of humans and mammals. However, it is still necessary to follow safe operating procedures during use to avoid excessive contact.
