Product Introduction
What does retinal do?
Retinaldehyde Powder, also known as vitamin A aldehyde, is a derivative of retinol after oxidation. It is generated by the oxidation and cleavage of β-carotene. It is reduced to retinol and oxidized to retinoic acid. It has six stereoisomers, of which the all-trans is the most stable. It is insoluble in water but soluble in ethanol, chloroform, cyclohexane, petroleum ether and oil. It is an intermediate metabolite of natural retinoic acid. It is the only one with similar biological activity to retinoic acid. It can be converted in both directions and can be oxidized to retinoic acid in the stratum corneum, accurately regulating cell proliferation and differentiation, and preventing corneocyte accumulation.
Its physiological effects are related to vision. Under the action of light, it can cause a rapid cis-trans isomerization reaction. It is the cofactor of rhodopsin. The 11-cis retinal and visual protein in the visual cell form visual pigments. When absorbing light, it is isomerized to all-trans retinal, which changes the conformation of rhodopsin and initiates nerve impulses to the brain, thereby forming vision. It is insoluble in water but easily soluble in oils and fats, and has an orange crystalline appearance.
Physiological functions
Maintaining normal visual function: It plays a key role in the visual process. It participates in the synthesis of rhodopsin, which is sensitive to light and helps the eyes see objects clearly under dim conditions.
Cell growth and differentiation: It helps cell proliferation and cell differentiation, which is essential for maintaining normal cell growth and development.
Maintaining the health of epithelial cells: It participates in the synthesis of glycoproteins, which is very important for the health and normal function of epithelial tissues.
Immune function: It enhances the body's immune function and helps fight diseases by regulating cellular and humoral immunity.
Antioxidant effect: Vitamin A aldehyde and other forms of vitamin A have antioxidant functions, which can neutralize free radicals and protect cells from oxidative damage.
Maintaining water and oil balance: It helps regulate the oil secretion of the skin, reduce oiliness, and keep the skin in an ideal water and oil state.
Skin care function
Anti-aging
Retinaldehyde is a nutrient and also a necessary nutrient for cells. It can increase the activity of cells, achieve anti-aging and improve the skin.
Beauty spot lightening
Adding retinal to skin care products can improve skin metabolism and improve skin spots.
Exfoliation
Retinaldehyde can stimulate the skin epidermis to accelerate metabolism, which is conducive to promoting the shedding of aging stratum corneum and improving skin appearance.
Improve skin immunity
Improve skin immunity and help the skin fight against bacteria and viruses. At the same time, it can also enhance the skin's self-repair ability, promote the regeneration of skin cells, and make your skin healthier and more lustrous.
Lighten spots
It also has the effect of lightening spots, which can reduce the deposition of pigments and make the skin more even. After a period of use, skin care products containing retinal can help you lighten various spots and make your skin brighter.
Relieve sensitivity
It also has unique effects on sensitive skin, which can relieve skin discomfort and reduce symptoms such as redness, swelling and itching.
Function of retinaldehyde-taurine adducts in photoreceptor cells
The study also found that taurine deficiency leads to damage of rod cells in the retina and decreased visual function. These results suggest that retinal-taurine adducts play an important role in maintaining retinal health and visual function.
