What is EUK-134?

EUK-134 is a synthetic superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT) mimetic with dual activity. It is a new type of water-soluble synthetic small molecule o-benzaldehyde ethylenediamine-manganese complex. The molecular weight is only 416.74, which is a small molecule compound. It has high antioxidant activity and can directly enter the skin to play a role. It imitates the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and catalase in the body, and converts superoxide anions (O2-) into peroxides (H2O2) through the redox cycle of the Mn (II) ion in the center of the molecule, and then converts hydrogen peroxide into water (H2O), completing the task of combining SOD and CAT.
