Product Introduction

What is erythrulose liquid?

Erythrulose liquid has the appearance of yellow and highly viscous liquid. It is a kind of ketose, which is the ketose form of erythrulose. It is a water-soluble, high-purity sunless tanning product fermented by non-pathogenic bacteria. It reacts with the free amino acids of keratin in the epidermal stratum corneum to achieve a dyeing effect, similar to the Medela reaction. This mechanism is similar to the natural sun tanning dynamics, while avoiding sun exposure and protecting delicate skin from UV damage. It reacts slowly and gently with the skin's coloring, so the tanning effect is natural, long-lasting, and stripe-free. It can be synergistically enhanced when combined with erythrulose. Therefore, for formulators, erythrulose has better flexibility and applicability in tanning products and hair dyes.
It exists with erythrulose in lichens and in fruits such as raspberries and cranberries. It is the simplest ketose and can now be produced by fermentation. Commercially available erythrulose is a syrupy, yellow, highly viscous liquid with a content of 78%-82%. It is soluble in water and anhydrous ethanol and is very sensitive to alkali. It can be used as a skin tanning agent. After being applied to the skin, it quickly gives the skin a natural sun-tanned color through the sun tanning department. There are different opinions on its coloring principle. Some studies believe that it has the activity of activating melanocytes, and another study believes that it is based on the Maillard reaction between erythrulose and amino acids. It can also be used for hair dyeing.

Source and structure:

A polysaccharide compound extracted from plants of the Rhodiola rosea family. Its molecular structure is simple and consists of glucose units and other sugar molecules. Its structural characteristics give it good biological activity and bioavailability.

Product features:

A safe tanning product that does not require sunbathing or harmful ultraviolet radiation.
Natural, uniform, and long-lasting tan, suitable for consumers.

No strong drying effect on the skin

No unpleasant odor

No formaldehyde risk

No irritation, contact dermatitis, eczema and skin itching. Stability is greatly improved

It is an intermediate product produced by the oxidation process of vitamin C. It is one of the commonly used tanning agent ingredients in Europe and the United States. It can combine with keratin in keratinocytes to form melanin, making the skin color look darker.

Application in cosmetics:

Erythrulose liquid

The commonly used vitamin C in cosmetics is L-ascorbic acid. After VC is oxidized to dehydroascorbic acid (DHAA), it begins to appear yellow. This stage still has antioxidant effects and can also regenerate vitamin C in the skin.
VC will not completely lose its activity until the ring structure opens to become diketogulonic acid. The main product: erythrulose, is the main culprit for the yellowing of the skin after using VC. It is an intermediate product produced during the oxidation process of vitamin C. It is one of the ingredients of tanning agents commonly used in Europe and the United States. It can combine with keratin in keratinocytes to form melanin, making the skin look darker. In fact, the melanin from erythrulose is not black, but reddish brown. A small amount of erythrulose can make the skin yellow.

It is a natural ketose that reacts with the amino group of skin surface protein peptides through the Maillard reaction to generate a brown polymer product that directly binds to the skin surface (stratum corneum). Compared with 1,3-dihydroxyacetone, erythrulose provides a more natural and realistic tan, lasts longer, and has a more stable formula. As a partner of DHA, erythrulose improves the properties of tanning products, such as reduced streaks, more natural color, and avoidance of skin dryness and irritation. Erythrulose causes a permanent tanning effect - which can only be removed through the skin's natural desquamation process.

Effects:

1. Antioxidant effect
It is an excellent natural antioxidant. It can reduce cellular oxidative damage by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting oxidative reactions. Studies have shown that it can effectively resist oxidative stress, reduce the risk of inflammatory responses and chronic diseases, and is very helpful in preventing diseases such as cardiovascular disease and Alzheimer's disease.

2. Immunomodulatory effect

It has a good immunomodulatory effect. It can enhance the body's immune function, promote the proliferation and activation of white blood cells, and improve antibody and cell-mediated immune responses. In addition, it can also regulate the secretion function of immune cells, increase the production of cytokines, and improve the body's ability to fight infection and inflammation.

3. Hypoglycemic effect

Studies have found that it has a significant effect on the regulation of blood sugar. It can promote the release and utilization of insulin and increase the uptake and utilization of glucose by muscles and liver. In addition, it can inhibit the absorption of glucose by the intestine and slow down the rise of blood sugar. Therefore, it has a positive effect on blood sugar control in diabetic patients.

4. Antibacterial effect

It has broad-spectrum antibacterial activity and can inhibit the growth and reproduction of a variety of bacteria, fungi and viruses. It exerts antibacterial effects by destroying bacterial cell walls, inhibiting enzyme activity and interfering with viral replication. Antibacterial effects help prevent and treat infectious diseases and have significant effects against a variety of pathogenic microorganisms.

5. Other effects

In addition to the above effects, it also has many other health benefits. It can promote digestive tract function and relieve symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases: it can regulate blood lipid metabolism, reduce blood lipid accumulation and blood viscosity; it also has a certain protective cardiovascular function to inhibit platelet aggregation and thrombosis.
