What is bulk vitamin E TPGS ?

Bulk Vitamin E TPGS is a water-soluble derivative of natural vitamin E. It is a surfactant containing lipophilic and hydrophilic groups in the molecule.
It is a pale yellow waxy solid, almost odorless, soluble in water and most polar organic solvents such as ethanol. Originally developed to treat vitamin E deficiency in patients with malabsorption, it is now used as an effective enhancer in formulations to improve the bioavailability of lipophilic and poorly soluble substances. Because of its unique properties, it has a long history of safety in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and animal feed. With documented benefits in dissolving and significantly improving the absorption, bioavailability and effectiveness of drugs.

2. Cosmetic applications:
Used as an enhancer in the formulation of water-soluble vitamin E and other active ingredients in personal care and cosmetics. It can be used as an ethanol-free, hypoallergenic, non-irritating emulsifier/excipient in personal care and cosmetics, and can also be used to dissolve poorly soluble drugs. Major applications include:
Eye drops, nasal sprays, syrups and other products primarily used to formulate active compounds.
Cream, lotion and other products for topical application of vitamin E and other formulated active ingredients.
3. For nutritional supplements:
In the United States, it can be used as a source of vitamin E in all dietary supplements and foods. In Europe, it is expressly approved for use in "foods for special medical purposes" in the Annex to Article 15 of Regulation (EU) No 609/2013.
Unlike natural vitamin E, this product is not emulsified by bile salts in the intestine and absorbed. Therefore, it can also be used as a source of vitamin E in groups with fat malabsorption, for example after removal of the gallbladder or in cases of cystic fibrosis (myxofibromatosis). In addition, it increases the bioavailability of other fat-soluble vitamins (A, D and K) because it forms water-soluble micelles with them, which are well absorbed by the body. Bulk Vitamin E TPGS is derived from the natural form of d-alpha-tocopherol and therefore has a relatively high content of 372-447 IU/g d-alpha-tocopherol. In addition, the combination of this product with natural vitamin E may be useful, so that this product increases its bioavailability in the same way as other fat-soluble vitamins. Bulk Vitamin E TPGS is a water-soluble derivative of the natural form of d-a-tocopherol. Due to its dual combination of lipophilicity and hydrophilicity, it has properties similar to those of surfactants. As an emulsifier, solubilizer, absorption and bioavailability enhancer, component of drug delivery and controlled release systems, and water-soluble form of vitamin E, its safety and efficacy in pharmaceuticals have been demonstrated.
As an emulsifier, solubilizer, excipient, it exhibits low critical micelle concentration, large surface area, solubility and stability in aqueous solutions, and forms various liquid crystalline phases. These properties enable it to emulsify lipid materials and help solubilize a wide range of water-oil-insoluble and other poorly soluble compounds.

Delivery and controlled release systems
In addition to its emulsifier and solubilizer properties, it can also be used as a carrier for semisolid preparations and used to prevent crystallization, carrier of active substances and carrier of thermal agents and thermal adhesives and controlled release systems.

Improves the absorption and bioavailability of lipids and poorly soluble compounds through three main mechanisms:
